Astro All-Starz Reading List for bookish baes and witty wordsmiths
Let’s face it, astrologers are bookish types, and now we’re keen visual auteurs too. So here’s a reading list of all my faves, plus links and recommendations from some of my illustrious Cosmic Eye monthly forecast co-host guests.
I’ve included recommended books beyond what I’ve read but confident they are worth the reading. Some are popular astrology, some are more technical, some are contemporary, and some have decent astrology but are behind the times in their language or concepts and gender, especially relationally for queer and non-binary folk, so please excuse and insert modern updates!
I’ll be adding to this page as I go, so bookmark or check back when you’re looking for a good read. I’ll include an astrology list, mystic, self-development, and anything else that needs to go here. Note that many of these topics overlap.
With 5 planets in Sagittarius (including Jupiter) this list is by no means finished. More links pending.

Help others when your cup is full (don’t martyr yourself). Center yourself and make decisions from there ie don’t accept a social role or expectation of 2nd place due to your gender, sexuality, ethnicity, socioeconomic or financial status.
FEMINIST
Women and Power, a manifesto. By Professor Mary Beard
Invisible Women, Exposing Data Vias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Perez – Essential reading and a good reminder that dissolving binary gender stereotypes and roles need not come at the cost of erasing women and further entrenching a male gender bias, often as the default or a false neutral. Loaded with stats that will make you fume and ready to take action, stand up for yourself and half the world’s population all at once. My takeaway is to de-aggregate data is everything, and to do that, you need to use a gendered lens to see what affects the female of our species, to design+fund for that, which helps inform designing for gender-neutral spaces, health care and its life-saving as well as saves fortunes of public and private money.

Introducing ASTRO POWER a simple guide to prediction and destiny
Astro Power is a simple, practical, and revealing handbook that reloads the wisdom of classic astrology for the modern mystic. It will show you how to use the planets, signs, and elements to forecast what, when, and where in your life to expect the unexpected, utilize challenges, and plan for changes.
Through easy-to-follow chapters, this book breaks down all you need to know to understand your cosmic calendar. You’ll be able to tap into the cosmic universe to see what life has in store for you and how you can adapt and change within various transits, time periods, or moon phases to get the most out of life and avoid missing out.
Use this book to understand your cyclical evolution, predict your destiny, and plan ahead to make the most of a particularly favourable period. Discover when cosmic periods of your life will begin and end and what you can do to get the most out of them. Understand which archetypal themes are at play, what areas, moods, or industries will rise and fall, and work out the best times to go for something, or when to be patient yet persistent when challenges arise.
Like my previous two books, Astro Power uses empowering language focussed on female readers, emerging non-binary and queer (yes, you Starling!) identities. Astro Power is fun, packed with useful astro and herstorical info, as well as simple change techniques. You’ll want to share it with your friends and family, take notes, create your own artwork and start tracking your cycles today. So, don’t delay; hit up the pre-order, so you’re first in line and let retailers know they need to order big.
Stay Cosmic,
Vanessa ✨
Classic Libra with Brian Clark of Astro*Synthesis
”Astrology and archetypes never change, it’s the social context that changes”.“The archetypal stream, source, isn’t binary (it’s unity)..(it’s been) caught in a cultural dynamic”.Brian calls us to honor the archetypal streams that flow underneath, and I second that motion!
Jessica Lanyadoo reps as Classic Capricorn 🐐
Xmas comes early as triple Capricorn Jessica Lanyadoo represents with all things the pragmatic senex.
It is my absolute pleasure to share Jessica’s insights as she is another of my all-time favorite astrologers and modern mystics respected internationally as a counseling and lecturing Astrologer as well as a Psychic Medium – with an ever-growing fanbase across the globe. On my list of which astrologers to listen to and learn from, Jessica, like any self-respecting Goatly Capricorn is at the pinnacle thanks to her 25 years of practical application and socially progressive style.
Lanyadoo has lectured extensively on Astrology and is well respected within the Astrological community for her unique and pragmatic approach.
In this episode, we’ll share excerpts from Jessica’s book, Astrology For Real Relationships, which reflects her progressive style with constructive Capricorn real talk from consent to boundaries to Venus in the first house topping from the bottom–yes you read that right!
I find the best way to get to know the signs (planets, houses, aspects) is to talk to people and listen in for those keywords and classic tells because we relentlessly express the archetypal signatures in our birth chart.
Join us for a snappy-Cappy-guide- to-life, as we cavort through:
