Rise and Shine Starlings!!! We’re talking with Pro Astrologer & Author Christopher Renstrom about decoding your rising sign with his new book, Rise & Shine, an Astrological Guide to How You Show Up in the World.

Renstrom shares his process as a 3x published author so you have some insight into how he decided on this topic, his motivation, and more—to demystify the process. And I hope to encourage you if you are ready to write but procrastinating or don’t know where to begin.

Rise and shine takes us through an intro to astrology is a timing mechanism or cosmic clock, the rising signs, and a breakdown of each rising sun with sun sign combo.

At the end of the podcast, I read out my combo to give you an idea of how it rolls, and I must say, of course, it was accurate. I love Renstrom’s seasoned synthesis, and I know you will too!

The Churkendoose

‘The encouraging story of the Churkendoose runs similar to Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of the ugly duckling. Rejected by all of the animals in the barnyard, the Churkendoose asks, “all right, my legs are kinda funny, and I have only one ear, but am I ugly? No! Just a little queer.”

The repeated refrain, “it depends on how you look at things,” is a poignant reminder that beauty, or ugly, is in the eye of the beholder. The Churkendoose finds acceptance and friends, “I’m teaching the duck how to tap-dance” by sharing her abilities.’

A Very Sagittarian Conversation with Wendy Stacey of the Mayo School of Astrology. Bonus look at Pluto in Aquarius.

Principal of the Mayo School of Astrology, based in London, originally from New Zealand, WENDY STACEY, brings her Sagittarius Moon/Neptune conjunction for a very Sagittarian conversation. Three decades of Astrology through modern, mundane, medical, financial, and more, teaching quite early on, a social sciences degree under her belt, financial and property background, Ph.D. in the making, and a couple of books to add to two already published.

Wendy’s knowledge is broad, and we talk about a LOT, with a special focus on Pluto moving into Aquarius and what to expect. There’s a multitude of ways this transit can express, so here are a few that are positive if you’re willing to see the silver lining and roll with the punches. Sagittarius is a mutable, long-form sign focused on the horizon, so what better subject than prediction?

We have a combined 13 planets in fire and a blazing el grande fire trine which I could feel in the synastry, reminding me it’s essential to touch base with your element!

I first saw Wendy speak at an online event, then found her book in my local library. She was so strong on transits and prediction in both cases I was compelled to bring her on the Astro pod.

Our special guest is Alexander Boxer, ‘a data scientist with a Ph.D. in Physics and degrees in the history of science and classics + proficiency in Latin. In a perfect storm, or in this case, his first book, these resources came together to create A Scheme of Heaven: Astrology and the Birth of Science.

I found Alexander’s 2019 book in our library system here in Australia. The freshness of his cross-disciplinary approach to the history of Astrology as a driving force of science and early technology intrigued me. Boxer read texts in their original Latin for his research, so nothing was lost in translation. Astrology, astronomy, and mathematics were originally the same bag (and the same person) with various applications.

‘Astrology was the ancient world’s most ambitious attempt to fathom the heavens, an epic data-analysis enterprise sustained by some of history’s most brilliant minds. Humans are pattern-matching creatures, and astrology is our grandest pattern-matching game.’

I surprised Ophi by preparing the Superchart our natal charts make when combined in a composite (using midpoints). Since we reference them in the chat, here they are!

What do you see?? Email or DM and I’ll add your insights below, I’m all ears! The first chart is the composite. The two charts pictured side by side are our natal charts. That super stellium in Sag in the 9th with Jupiter in sign on the Midheaven and north node of destiny in the career house/public. Traveling to and teaching in foreign destinations? I know I can speak for all concerned and that’s a YES from the Sagittarians in the room. Have you ever created a composite chart that was played out in a textbook scenario either positive or negative? Let me know!

What happened next!

I requested a sample pdf to talk about the book with Ophi. Since it was a later-stage draft (a galley) but not quite the final print-ready version, I spotted a few errors with my by now, three books later, eagle eye (who says Sag misses details?). Since I feel invested and want the best possible for the Twin’s fabulous contributions, I marked up the first few typos and sent them back, offering to mark up the rest as I read through since I was reading it anyway. Ophi asked if I’d ever worked as a professional copy editor and if I had she’d hire me in a second. Well, as you know, I’m three books in, so yes, on my own books (we also have my wonderful commissioning editor, a copywriter, and proofreader on the Power series-it takes a village!) I said I’m reading it anyway, so I’ll mark them up. The Twins felt they wanted to give me a credit in the book as a copywriter, then to formalize with a fee, so, of course, I accepted! Add that to my already multi-hyphen C.V. #mutable life I love working with mutable signs because our natures work well together. We can move and adapt spontaneously, and keep things fresh and full of fun and surprises.

Supercouple is dedicated to the team (that village) who made it happen, which now includes me! So, of course, a story came out of this one, and Sag loves a long-winded yarn. Remember, you always get more with Sag, and Jupiter!!

Manifested

I’d only just decided I wanted to interview more authors (I hadn’t known about Supercouple coming out at that point) and later thought, ‘I wish I were paid for reading books I want to read’! The rest is well read herstory.
