Destiny
What makes you special? What makes life special? It’s connection, magic and meaning right?
Your sovereign rule over your own life is key. Follow the inner call of your destiny- only you can hear that voice or know what that is. Not your parents, friends, advisors or partner.
This brings me to the recent, much-hyped Full Moon Eclipse in the royal sign of Leo.
Not only was the Moon herself eclipsed and turned a deep bloody red, but the event stole the Suns thunder as she moved into her first day of Aquarius season. Incidentally, the Sun is the ruling planet of Leo, and is, therefore ‘weakened’ in the opposite sign of Aquarius.

Queens are doing it for themselves
Synchronistically. there isn’t one, but two films out (in Australia) at this time about Queens. One is ‘the Favorite’, while the other is ‘Mary Queen of Scots’, featuring again, not one, but two Queens. Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England ruled at the same time as her cousin Mary. I went along to both movies to channel some Queenly inspo from these super famous, and in their time, A-list celebrity royals, the superstars of their time, who elevated themselves to Goddesses.
The North Node of Destiny
Being a monarch was a risky business. So what motivated these two women to take on the mantle they were born to? I had a look at both of their birth charts and found an interesting coincidence. Royal Star Power was in one’s destiny, and in ones past. Elizabeth the 1st had her North Node of destiny in the sign of Leo. It was her fate to become Queen. We are meant to move toward the north node, it’s not easy, but it works to develop the area described by its sign, house placement & aspects to any other planets. No surprise Queen Elizabeth is still one of histories most successful and famous rulers.
The South Node of ‘turn around, head north, NORTH!’
However, Queen Mary of Scots had more claim to the English throne than Elizabeth. Unfortunately, it was her South Node that was in Leo, indicating that being a V.I.P was her past and inheritance, but not her future. This was her comfort zone and she was born knowing how to shine, take the helm and rule. However, in her life, she was destined to run with the masses and more common people. Perhaps being an equal part of a larger organization for progressive legislation etc. A motto of ‘we the people’ would have served her well. Fate had handed her opportunity by giving her the choice to stay in France, allowing reagents to rule Scotland in her stead.
Ultimately Mary was beheaded by Elizabeth for (allegedly) continuing to plot against the English throne. Mary’s South Node Leo ego was the cause of her demise. She didn’t listen to her calling to grow into new territory and develop. When we stay in the comfort zone of our South Node, we tend to trip over the shadow side of the sign ruling it. Use those natural talents instead to move into your north node arena.
Key Queenly takeaways
- Poise
You don’t have to be born a titled Queen to hold your head high in every and any situation.
- Own it
Channel your inner Monarch by walking into the room like you own it. See and feel that glow, warmth, and self-respect you emanate. Stay equal, don’t minimize yourself to make others feel comfortable or more powerful. Awkwardness is ok and healthy boundaries gain you respect. As always, Own. Your. Power.
- Leadership
Lead from your heart for mutual benefit.
- Express yourself
Rule creatively and authentically by sharing with generosity the gifts that only you have.
So take care of your inner Unicorn. The key is listening to your inner voice, following your destiny, and creating/seeing the magic beyond the mundane. Issue 17 of Womankind magazine had an excellent article on magic vs mundane, take a look. Key is to balance your left and right brain functioning so you’re powering with everything you’ve got. Art and creativity vs language/science/math etc. Find it here
For more Queenly inspo, see the films Elizabeth, & Elizabeth: the Golden Age, starring Australias own Cate Blanchett.
