On New Moons release the past, any habits, conditioning, thoughts, beliefs that aren’t authentic or no longer serve you. At this time the Moon and Sun are united at the exact same degree in the sky, merging both conscious and unconscious aspects of our mind. Energy is bought into a contemplative, reflective and quiet mood.
This makes rich soil for hacking your inner/higher self/subconscious. Get that 95% of your mind on board for future goal setting and planning.
Write down what you’re releasing, then burn as you visualise and feel yourself let go with love and gratitude for how they have served you up until now.
New Moons are about Manifesting, so next plant the seeds of intention you want to sew, then water them with action. Write up to 10 intentions or affirmations to bring into your life over the next six months, by the Full Moon in SCORPIO. This is when the Sun & Moon are opposite each other facing off in polarity.
To take it a step further draw or make a vision board for your plans, make sure you add a fruition date. Add potency by fuelling your vision with strong emotions, work in the positive rather than from a place of lack, fear etc. Seeds you sew in the mix will most likely germinate so make sure you cultivate exactly what you want.
Focus on areas and approaches that SCORPIO rules, such as;
- Emotional alchemy
Regeneration
Transformation
Deep, shared intimacy
Intensity
Occult mysteries
Elimination
The hidden and unseen
Issues you may need to apply your alchemy to:
- Power struggles
Revenge
Jealousy
Obsession
Trust
Eg
“I easily know who to trust and give my trust to the right people”
“I easily step up for and protect myself when I need to”
“I am easily in touch with my inner knowing and magic”
“I easily attract the resources I need”
“I easily release with love, everything that no longer serves my highest potential”
“I easily work with others resources to mutual benefit”
“I easily co-create and maintain deep bonds, intimacy and trust in my relationships”
“I easily own my power”
“I easily express my personal power in a way that is empowering to all”
“I give thanks for the magic I weave effortlessly throughout my life”
“I give thanks for, love and easily accept all facets of myself”
Scorpiotronic
Scorpio is a water sign of great depth. Her role is to deep dive, investigating and revealing all that’s been pushed out of sight. The underworld is her playground as it’s here she finds everything you’ve tried to hide and bury. Her urge is to unveil it, look unflinchingly at it and transform it. Scorpio works on the metaphysical principle that energy can’t be destroyed, it just changes form. She also knows that to transform what no longer serves her she may need to experience a death to be reborn. When under the spell of Scorpio vibes life can feel intense because our egos job is to prevent change, aka death.
The image of the witch in the darkness, conjuring spells is a metaphor for your own magical ability to go within and manifest from the creative void. There is no us and them with witchery. We all have these natural gifts as our birth right.
This months new Moon asks us to reclaim our inner witch, let her know you hear her, love her and welcome her into your life.
Rise of the now age witch
Currently Witches and magic are experiencing a re-brand and a rebirth of their own. I found it interesting to learn this week that Sephora pulled a product titled ‘the starter witch kit’ from it’s shelves due to backlash. Apparently the backlash came from people identifying as witches. However I wonder if the backlash in America is actually from a segment of the public that still demonises what ‘witch’ means.
As we know, often what we fear most is our own power. And if we’re suppressing it in ourselves we’re damn straight not going to let anyone else let theirs show or flow. It threatens to expose what we’ve done to ourselves, and we’d have to face it. Again we’re in that Scorpio zone, seeking out repressed and feared aspects of ourselves that in fact hold the key to our own personal power and abundance.
Threatened?
If indeed those identifying as witches are also threatened. If you’re truely on the path to liberation, do remember that Identity is the realm of the ego. It’s a collected roll call of ideas, feelings, beliefs and concepts that we’ve gathered about ourselves and it’s useful for functioning in daily life. However worn too tightly it’s limiting and obscures our true self which is fathomless, limitless and more than we can imagine.
The book ‘Cutting through Spiritual Materialism’ by ex Tibetan Buddhist Monk, Chogyam Trungpa discusses the traps of the ego on the path to enlightenment. We all identify with certain ideas and traits that serve as a handle on ‘who’ we are, so I offer these ideas as something to reflect on, and as only one facet of the entire picture.
Break through the branding
Urban outfitters stock my book Star Power, and has also come under fire for selling commercial products and making profit from the mystical. As the author I WANT my book to be disseminated to audiences that wouldn’t usually benefit from being exposed to that kind of knowledge. I wish I found a book like Star Power when I was of primary school age! There was no internet for specialist topics or research, there were certainly no women identifying as witches, pagans or astrologers in my local hood and I had no idea about any specialist shops that traded in such secrets.
I’m not interested in preaching to the converted. I want to give the gift that I had when I was younger, when I felt lit from a mere waft of something that resonated with my spirit. We all have an entry point to what lights our soul and uplifts us.
The conversation is on the table, it has many sides, and there’s pros and cons to both of course. The pros include demystifying words like witch, Pagan, Wicca, occult, magic, intuition, and even astrology etc introducing them back into the common vernacular with acceptance rather than predudice. I’m glad to see these words resurfacing and up for a rebrand! And it IS all just branding. Witch is generally applied to women, and if women are empowered, in flow and in touch with their magic and intuition in number, that will change the world. It already is.
Flow easy
Easy flows to Mystical Neptune and Scorpios ruler, Pluto, contribute to reclaiming your magic. Scorpio has a tough exterior and is armed with a sting for a reason. She’s incredibly vulnerable. Tap into that vulnerable, ephemeral part of you, the part you normally keep hidden, even from yourself. You’ll be surprised at how it touches others.
Scorpios urge to merge will take you deep down underneath your fortress walls where underground water finds it way through. When you engage with others from this space it’s the deepest bond you’ll experience. The area of your chart this New Moon is in will be where you’ll benefit from finally letting your guard down.
Tasking
Q’s to ask yourself – What do you need to let go of and transform? Any resistance or limiting beliefs around working in the energetic or vibrational realm beyond the understanding of your rational mind? Any fear of judgement? Who from? What judgements specifically.
Now ask yourself where you make those judgements on others, they’re what YOU need to let go of as only you have the power to reclaim or repress. Nut it out, it’s worth it.
If you live in a situation where you need to be discreet, of course it’s important to be aware for your safety. For the most of us, times have not only changed, but there’s a new Sheriff in town-we’re here, we’re seers, get over it!
