On New Moons release the past, any habits, conditioning, thoughts, beliefs that aren’t authentic or no longer serve you.
Write them down, then burn them as you visualize and feel yourself let go with love and gratitude for how they have served you up until now.
New Moons are about Manifesting, so next plant the seeds of intention you want to sew, then water them with action. Write up to 10 intentions or affirmations to bring into your life over the next six months, by the Full Moon in VIRGO.
Focus on areas and approaches that VIRGO rules, such as:
- Creating Order from Chaos
- Mind/Body health/connection
- Assimilation of ideas/nutrients
- I easily find myself doing yoga/walking/gym/swimming for a minimum hour a day, 5 days a week.
- I easily establish and keep routines that lead to vibrant health.
- I easily listen and hear the wisdom of my body.
- I am filled with healthy self-confidence and satisfaction in every area of my work.
- I easily finish work projects with a maximum of efficiency and coolness.
- I easily replace daydreaming with productive action.
- I have clear planning that empowers my goals to be reached successfully.
- I easily find myself in the present moment, using it to make my dreams a reality.
- I easily say no in a way that others hear and respect.
- I easily find time and energy to lend my skills in a way that serves those who need it most.
The place/’house’ in our natal chart ruled by VIRGO is the area of our lives where we need some sort of dedicated practical effort, efficiency, routine, and order. This may be where we enjoy our health routine, eg with Virgo on the cusp of the 7th house of partnerships, you’d find you love to engage in healthy activities with your partner, ‘let’s make green smoothies together’! Or on the cusp of the 6th house of daily work, you’d enjoy those smoothies every morning at work with your colleagues.
You may also find in this area of your life you’re detail oriented, can be nitpicky and tend to worry.
This New Moon is conjunct the north node, which means there’s an air of destiny about it.
The way forward is to set an intention of responding to chaos with constructive participation. BYO ‘Can do’ attitude and roll up your sleeves rather than withdrawing and hope a situation that may have been bothering you will go away. Since the south node is conjunct Neptune in Pisces, the way back into chaos and dissolution is to roll up into a ball and ignore it.
The New Moon is also square Saturn in Sagittarius, persevere through obstacles (although you won’t want to), draw on your knowledge, push your comfort zone, (push it hard!) and horizons to create some practical magic in your life and work.
This is a practical combo, so no amount of sitting around stargazing is going to accomplish what a clever plan and focused action can.
Mercury is retrograde, so be prepared to course correct on any plans implemented around this time. It may be as simple as that new health routine needing adjusting to better suit your individual needs.
This is a great time to consult a professional in an area you’ve been lax eg , personal trainer, nutritionist, or even an accountant to get you on track.
Since Virgo can be too strong on the ‘control freak’ issues when overdone, here’s an excellent remedy. Check out this Ted Talk from Brene Brown on how and why to balance that control streak when it’s used out of fear to cut yourself off from others.

The key here is to use that famous Virgo discernment. Choose who is worthy of you, who isn’t and allow yourself to assimilate experience. Remember boundaries are attractive, use them wisely.
There’s an eclipse accompanying this New Moon that will take us back to 1997/98, anything from that time resurfacing now? Those years may hold clues to answers you seek today. With the eclipse, you get to truly reset some old habits that have proven hard to shift or mind-body health issues that have proven difficult to resolve. Listen to the wisdom of your body and consult a professional to really hit the nail on the head.
Cheers and whistle while you work loved ones,
